If you’re wanting to make the perfect sandwich loaf shape using 100% freshly milled wheat then you HAVE to grab yourself a USA Pullman pan and this recipe to do it!
First of all, you need a Pullman pan. The one I have in the video is the 13” long 2lb Pullman pan. You can purchase it here: https://bit.ly/3zgfxUc
Secondly, you need to grab my Simple Yeast Bread Loaf recipe! The recipe is large enough to make two 2lb Pullman loaves, or just use half the dough for the Pullman pan and the other half for a regular loaf, rolls, etc.
*NOTE* One thing not mentioned in the video, is you need to allow your bread to COMPLETELY cool down before slicing! Otherwise your bread may fall.
Enjoy!
Can I store the other half in the fridge to have ready to use ?
Also where do I store the baked bread to keep it fresh?
I have a video about storing baked bread. You can check that out here: https://youtu.be/Waom-_N93VY
Yes, you can store bread in the fridge but I find it dries it out a bit faster.
Do you have a recipe for pizza dough? Love your videos, Felicia! Iām a newbie grainie, and am learning so much from you!
I just use my simple yeast bread loaf recipe š
Can I use a sourdough recipe with this pan?
I’ve never tried it, but I don’t see why not!
I’m looking to make the bread softer.. is there something I can add to the recipe to make a softer chewier loaf? Egg? Butter? Milk? anything or everything?
Lecithin is generally used to help make bread softer. I did a video all about bread additives and their purpose. You can check it out here: https://youtu.be/ZuTTKMvRrWs
This is going to be my go-to bread recipe for everyday stuff. The first time I made it was okay, but the second was better. Thanks for sharing that you now make three loaves from the recipe. That helps.
Thanks.
