1cupcoarsely milled wheatabout 2/3 cup of wheat berries of your choice
3cupswater
whatever you want to add to it!
Instructions
Mill wheat berries to coarse setting - about the same coarseness as grits.
Add water to a pot, bring to boil.
When water is boiling, add wheat to the pot a little at a time whisking vigorously the whole time. If you dump it all in at once or stop whisking, flour will clump together.
Whisk wheat about 1 minute until all lumps are out and wheat is cooked.
Scoop in a bowl and add whatever toppings you like!
Notes
I love adding some milk, cinnamon, diced apples, and brown sugar to our cream of wheat.Other toppings can be bananas, berries, honey, peanut butter, shredded coconut, use your imagination!
