4cupsfresh or frozen berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, combination, whatever). If using frozen berries, make sure they are FROZEN and not thawed. Otherwise they will come out mushy!
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt. Mix well.
Add sugar to flour mixture and mix well.
Stir in milk and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Should look like typical cake batter so, if needed, add a bit more milk.
Grease 9x13 dish.
Pour mixture into greased pan.
Distribute berries throughout the top. As it bakes, berries will sink further so you can add more berries as the cobbler cooks to keep berries on top.
Sprinkle 1/2 tbsp sugar over top.
Bake 50 minutes, remove and sprinkle remaining 1/2 TB sugar (feel free to add sugar to taste).
Bake 10 more minutes until top is golden brown.
Serve immediately (best with vanilla ice cream)!
Notes
Cobblers are such a staple in the South. This can be made with peaches too for peach cobbler!
